Slave Lake EMS latest ambulance unit to join HSAA

Monday, April 14, 2009

Health Sciences welcomed another 21 ambulance professionals to its growing health-care family today, after Slave Lake EMS employees voted overwhelmingly to join Alberta's EMS union.

Formerly without union representation, the Slave Lake Air and Ground Ambulance personnel voted in favour of joining HSAA, during a union certification vote held earlier today in the northern Alberta community.

"We're pleased with the strong support we received here today, which is further evidence that HSAA is the respected voice of EMS professionals across our great province," said HSAA Labour Relations Officer Tony Jones.

"We welcome all EMS professionals across Alberta to join our growing health-care family, where they will enjoy the benefits and respect this profession receives under our representation."

Negotiation dates will be set in the near future between HSAA and the Slave Lake EMS employer.
