HSAA launches new EMS video

Monday, April 6, 2009

EDMONTON - Health Sciences launched a new EMS DVD earlier today, that highlights "The HSAA Advantage" and the important work the union undertakes on behalf of its members.

"Making this DVD highlighted the diversity of our membership, and the unity of purpose these members possess," said Tony Jones, Health Sciences Labour Relations Officer.

"The patience required in a long day of filming demonstrated that they share an unspoken value. It.s clear they want the public, HSAA members and fellow EMS works across the province, to understand the pride they feel for their profession - and their union."

The film was shot at the Peace Country EMS Station, with the cooperation of Health Sciences. EMS members employed in Peace Country - one of two EMS Discovery Projects launched by the provincial government back in 2003. The projects were designed to examine the role of EMS workers in a broader health-care context.

The second Discovery Project, which also included Health Sciences. EMS members, occurred in the former Palliser Health Region.
